Philips Tweet 2011 New Year Resolution Unlocks Sweepstakes
To welcome the 2011, Philips try to tapped into the Twitter capital of South East Asia - Indonesia. Tweeps in Indonesia are invited to tweet about their New Year Resolution via Philips mini-site built with integrated twitter hashtag and all, once people has tweeted their New Year Resolution or better known as campaign "Semangat 2011", they will need to get as many RT as possible via their friends. Philips will then award tweeps with gifts if their tweets travel far, its a very clever and well targeted campaign.
According to ComScore latest research "Indonesia at 20.8 percent had the highest proportion of its home and work Internet audience visiting Twitter.com." This figure represent a big shift from couple months earlier report where Brazil was second to US in terms of Twitter penetration, but in terms of Asia Pacific demographic Japan now also has the highest twitter penetration, not counting the emerging India yet. Indonesia represents over 6 million twitter users and growing daily, most of the population gain access via mobile phones due to the low rate daily and unlimited Internet subscription that competing providers offer. This also explains a lot on the high growth of Facebook users in Indonesia, which to date represents over 32 million people.
